Automating business process mapping with AI
the brief
GriddGO is a Norwegian B2B SaaS platform that helps organizations capture, model, and manage their internal processes. Its product ecosystem combines a centralized process repository, a BPMN modeling tool, and an AI chatbot that interviews employees about how their work is performed. The AI then structures these responses and uses them to generate an initial process model, reducing the manual effort required to document workflows across large organizations.
Goal
Design an onboarding and AI interview experience that could guide employees through process discovery without requiring prior knowledge of process modeling. The solution also needed to collect information consistently enough to support model generation, integrate with GriddGO’s existing product ecosystem, and remain feasible within a strict delivery timeline.
My role
As the solo product designer, I owned the experience from product framing to implementation-ready design. Working directly with the business analyst and client, I translated the AI concept into an end-to-end user journey, defined the onboarding and conversational flows, created the interface and interactive prototype, and aligned the final solution with development constraints.
